Typical problems on the plant floor

On continuously moving axes — CNC machines, robots, conveyors, cranes — power and signal cables fail first: twisting, broken cores, abraded jackets. Metal bearings need regular greasing and cannot be used in wet, dusty or food-contact areas.

What AVA proposes

igus uses self-lubricating polymers: e-chain cable carriers that keep the cable at its correct bend radius, chainflex cables designed for repeated motion, iglide plain bearings and drylin linear guides that run completely dry. This removes the lubrication system, reduces moving mass and multiplies cable life compared with standard cable.
